Vieira expects a harmonious City

Vieira expects a harmonious City

Patrick Vieira is confident that Manchester City's aspirations to win the Premier League title will not be negatively affected by the number of star players at Eastlands.

Roberto Mancini and his predecessor Mark Hughes have spent hundreds of millions of pounds assembling a City squad full of talented footballers as they look to build a side capable of challenging for trophies - the Premier League 2010/11 betting suggests they should make an impact.

After last season's disappointment of missing out on the Premier League top four, and with it Champions League qualification, the Italian manager has splashed the cash to bring David Silva, Jerome Boateng, Alexander Kolarov and Yaya Toure to the club - with the latter reported to be on £200,000 a week.

If everything goes to plan for Mancini, he will also have added James Milner to his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Vieira, who was Mancini's first signing in January, is honest that he may have to play a bit-part role for City this season. But he has dashed the fears that so many big egos around Eastland could have a negative effect on the team and disharmony could erupt if players are left out of the team.

"If we want to do well in the league and the Europa Cup, and the national cups, it will be all of the 25 players who make a difference," said the veteran Frenchman,

"If every single player understands that this squad will go really far."

The Europa League odds suggest City have a great chance of winning that competition if they take it seriously.

Vieira's confident words mirror those recently said by his team-mate Carlos Tevez, with the Argentine forward stating he thinks City have a "stronger" team than last season and he expects them to be challengers for Premier League title this campaign.
