Liverpool tracking Burnley striker Danny Ings

04 December 2013 - 06:35

Liverpool are apparently interested in signing Burnley hitman Danny Ings as a back-up for Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • The Reds strike duo, have been in sensational form this season having scored 18 goals between them, but a two-month lay-off for Sturridge due to injury has meant that Liverpool's lack of depth up front could be exposed.
The Mirror reports that the Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will make a January transfer offer to sign the talented England Under-21 international Ings, who has scored 15 goals in 20 appearances for the Clarets this season.
It is understood that the Reds would find it hard to persuade high-flying Burnley in selling the talented marksman, as the club believe that Ings can fire them back to the top flight for the first time since the 2010/11 season.
The Clarets are currently third in the Championship.
