Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger likely to sign his 'Special Player' next week

01 January 2014 - 03:35

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had revealed in his statement yesterday that he wants to sign a 'Special Player' in the January transfer window.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The Gunners boss rejected claims that he would make a renewed attempt to sign Luis Suarez , and insisted that he will strengthen his squad in the transfer market if he finds a 'Special Player'.

Arsenal's main man Olivier Giroud looks set to miss out on today's clash against Cardiff City at home with an ankle injury, and this may tempt Arsene in making the move for a proven top-class striker sooner rather than later, with the likes of Lukas Podolski and Nicklas Bendtner yet to play a major part in the club's campaign due to a lack of match fitness.

Atletico's Diego Costa and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema have been linked with a switch to the North London outfit in recent weeks.
