Koscielny out indefinitely with calf injury

Laurent Koscielny sidelined with calf injury

Arsenal are expected to be without star defender Laurent Koscielny due a calf injury for the next couple of games, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Gunners boss confirmed that the French centre-back would miss the Swan's clash at home on Tuesday night, and does not know as to when he would be making his comeback to the first team.

"We have lost Laurent Koscielny for Tuesday's game with a calf problem. I don't know how long he will be out for. He has a scan today [Monday]. Everyone else should be available," Wenger said.

This comes as a big blow for the Gunners, who are already without the likes of Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil for the crucial run of games, with Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby remaining the long-term absentees.

However, this could be the time for club captain Thomas Vermaelen to redeem himself and a good spell in the first team could convince the Belgian international into remaining with the North London outfit beyond the current campaign.
