Arsenal are reportedly set to join Manchester United in the pursuit of one of Bundesliga's best during the summer transfer window.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has shown intent in boosting his squad, and has already sealed deals for the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers this summer.

However, with club-captain Thomas Vermaelen on the way out, the Frenchman looks set to continue his summer spending by making a move for a top-class replacement.

According to The People, the North London club are set to rival United for German international Mat Hummels, who may be sold for a fee in the region of £30m.

It is understood that Louis van Gaal may pull out of a deal for the German international, should Thomas Vermaelen switch to Old Trafford this summer.
