Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is reportedly set to allow the sale of star midfielder Juan Mata when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Dutchman spent over £150m this summer, as he brought in the likes of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria, Daley Blind and loan signing Radamel Falcao to Old Trafford.
According to The Mail, Van Gaal is keen on offloading the former Chelsea man this winter for a fee of around £20m. The report adds that the veteran manager will continue on his rebuilding project at United, with Arturo Vidal, Mats Hummels and Sami Khedira, considered as his prime targets.
United are yet to win a competitive fixture under the management of Van Gaal.
