Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a January move for Sporting Lisbon defender Cedric Soares, according to The Star.
The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is well aware of the club's lack of strength in the defensive department, having been forced to rely on youngster Hector Bellerin at right-back during times where Calum Chambers has played in the central defensive role.
A report from The Star claims that Frenchman had sent scouts to watch Soares in action over the past few weeks.
In addition to this, the Gunners could opt to sign the 23-year-old in the New Year, given his release clause is just £7m.
