Jesse Lingard to pen fresh Man Utd deal

12 September 2016 - 06:32

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is poised to ink a new contract after his impressive showing over the past year. The England international made his first league start under Jose Mourinho against Manchester City on Saturday.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The 23-year-old had his breakthrough season under former boss Louis van Gaal last term where he stepped up to become a key player for the Red Devils.

According to The Mirror, the talented winger will be rewarded with a four-year deal on improved terms with the Special One willing to play him on a regular basis in his first-team.

Lingard was hauled in at half-time during the Manchester derby as he was largely disappointing with his performance, but this will have no effect on his future with the Mancunian giants.

Mourinho suffered his first loss as the Red Devils' boss after his side lost 2- 1 to neighbours Manchester City managed by great rival Pep Guardiola.

Lingard is fondly known for his stunning winner for United in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace last term.
