Chelsea plot £25m offer for Michael Keane

Chelsea will look to test Burnley's resolve with a £25m bid for Michael Keane in the January transfer window. The former Manchester United graduate has evolved into a key player for the Clarets in recent seasons.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Keane, 23, was the subject of multiple bids from Leicester City over the summer with Claudio Ranieri's side willing to pay as much as £17m for his signature.

However, the Clarets were determined to keep hold of their player as their valuation for their centre-half was well above the £28m range.

According to The Mirror, the Blues will lodge a tempting £25m bid for Keane in the New Year as they bid to solve their defensive crisis.

The West London giants did manage to recruit David Luiz and Marcos Alonso in the previous transfer window, but this has not changed the focus of Antonio Conte with the likes of Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry set to be shown the exit door at the end of the season.

Chelsea are currently placed eighth in the league standings with 10 points after a run of three games without a win.
