Torino are keen to make Joe Hart’s loan from Manchester City permanent at the end of the current season, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttosport is reporting that Serie A side Torino are hopeful of being able to sign England goalkeeper Joe Hart on a permanent deal at the end of the season, having been impressed by the 29-year-old’s performances during his current loan spell from Manchester City.
Hart produced a fine display last weekend at the Turin club beat title challengers AS Roma 3-1, with the only goal the former Shrewsbury Town keeper conceded in that game being a Francesco Totti penalty.
And now the Italian club are exploring the possibility of making Hart’s temporary move to Serie A a permanent one.
Hart was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad by new manager Pep Guardiola this summer. It is believed that the reason Guardiola did not want to hang onto Hart was due to his lack of passing ability and unfamiliarity with playing the sweeper-keeper role.
City instead moved to sign experienced Chilean stopper Claudio Bravo from FC Barcelona for £16 milion, with former Malaga keeper Willy Caballero retained as back up.
It is unlikely that Hart will be wanted back at the Etihad by Guardiola next season, and a permanent switch elsewhere is surely on the cards.
Whether or not Hart wishes to remain in Italy will be the key factor in Torino’s hopes of signing him, as he may well have offers to return to the Premier League.
