Alexis Sanchez enjoys playing alongside Gunners summer signing

24 October 2017 - 07:10

Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez has spoken fondly about Alexandre Lacazette citing that he is an 'excellent player' to work with.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The pair have rarely played alongside each other this term due to the Chilean's fitness issues, but they were impressive during Sunday's Premier League outing versus Everton.

Both Sanchez and Lacazette found the scoresheet in a 5-2 triumph and the linkup play between them and Mesut Ozil was a treat to watch for the Gunners' faithful.

Lacazette has already bagged five goals in the Gunners shirt - since arriving from Lyon, and Sanchez describes the Frenchman as a top recruit as they work well together on the field.

"When he has a goalscoring chance, he is a good finisher," he told Arsenal's official website. "He's a classic striker. He was a successful player in France, and the two of us work well together. He's an excellent player.

"I believe we have [a good understanding]. We haven't played that many games together but when we have, I like how he plays. He finds space and understands the game well. He is very talented."

The victory at Goodison Park takes the Gunners to fifth place in the league standings, nine of league leaders Manchester City, who are yet to face a defeat.

Arsenal host Norwich City in a fourth-round League Cup tie on Tuesday night, and Arsene Wenger could be expected to ring in the changes with his fringe players getting a run.

The likes of Mathieu Debuchy and Rob Holding are among those who could feature at the heart of the midfield whilst Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud are also expected to play higher up the field.
