PSG enter race for Manchester United defender

04 August 2018 - 10:45

French club Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, according to Mirror Football.

  • Confirmed Arsenal line-up vs West Ham, Lewis-Skelly starts
  • Chelsea eyeing shock move for 24yo AC Milan star
  • United are ready to let the defender go as they close in on Barcelona central defender Yerry Mina.

The £20m central defender has also been linked with Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Marseille and Zenit. Manchester United signed the Argentine international from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 for £16m.

It is not yet clear which club will be able to get him, but he has reportedly rejected a move to Wolves due to the fact that they are not a 'big' club. Based on this thought, PSG have the upper hand in the race for his signature as they are the Ligue One champions and are playing in the UEFA Champions League.

They also boast of players like Gianluigi Buffon, and Thiago Silva who he could partner in central defence. He will also have the opportunity to earn more money and his price tag shouldn't be a problem for them.
