Atletico Madrid are reportedly prepared to secure a permanent transfer agreement for the services of Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata.

  • The 26-year-old joined the Spanish outfit on an 18-month loan from the Blues last winter but recent reports have indicated that he could be recalled unless Atleti agree on a permanent deal.

According to The Telegraph, the Madrid giants have given the green light to pursue the Spaniard on a permanent basis meaning that they would have to meet the Blues £50m price tag.

Atleti are expected to part ways with Antoine Griezmann during the ongoing transfer window and they are supposedly reluctant to lose another marksman from their ranks.

Morata, who contributed six goals for Atleti during the backend of the previous campaign, has previously indicated that he has no plans of making a comeback to the Premier League with the Blues.

Chelsea are currently with just one regular striker in the form of Olivier Giroud but the likes of Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi will compete for places after returning from respective loan stints.
