Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) to face Chelsea, Mane and Firmino start

21 September 2019 - 16:04

Liverpool will be aiming to continue their perfect start to the Premier League season when they face Chelsea on the road on Sunday. The table-toppers go into the game with a seven-point advantage over the Blues.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • Formation: 4-3-3

    Predicted Lineup:

Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson continues to remain sidelined with the calf problem picked up during the Premier League curtain raiser. Hence, Adrian is expected to start between the sticks once more.

In the defence, no changes are likely from recent encounters. Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip will be expected to start at the heart of the defence with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson in the right and left-back positions respectively.

In the centre of the park, there may be one change from the midweek Champions League clash with James Milner being replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum. He will most certainly partner Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in a three-man midfield.

Upfront, there are no doubts regarding the personnel with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane expected to feature on the right and left wing respectively while Roberto Firmino should lead the line after starring off the bench in the previous league clash.

Predicted Liverpool lineup: Adrian, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino
