Eric Dier to be sold by Tottenham Hotspur in January?

08 October 2019 - 14:53

England international Eric Dier will reportedly be placed in the transfer market by Tottenham Hotspur at the turn of the year.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs in recent seasons and he has managed just two top-flight appearances this term.

According to The Sun, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen to parting ways with players, who are running down their contracts or out-of-favour at the club.

It is added that Dier could be among a long list of players including Christian Eriksen, Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama and Danny Rose, who could be shown the exit door in January.

Dier has been with the north London side for the past five years and he was initially lauded for his versatility of playing in the midfield or defence with consistency.

However, his performances have dipped in the past few seasons and he has mostly been an unused substitute this term with Pochettino favouring the likes of Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele ahead of him for the midfield duties
