Crystal Palace want to seal January deal for Chelsea striker

22 November 2019 - 18:36

Crystal Palace will reportedly make the attempt to sign Olivier Giroud from Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in less than two months' time.

  • Chelsea defender on his way to Leeds United?
  • Chelsea ready to hand Nicolas Jackson fresh chance
  • The Frenchman has been restricted to just six appearances for the Blues this term where the likes of Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi have been favoured ahead of him for the centre-forward role.

According to The Express, Giroud is expected to seek a fresh challenge in the New Year and the Eagles are set to compete with the likes of Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

While the Eagles are prepared to offer Giroud with the chance to remain in the English capital, there are still said to hold concerns over meeting the striker's wage requirements.

Giroud is reluctant to accept anything less than £7m a season and it remains to be seen whether the south London outfit are able to come up with the package at the turn of the year.
