Arsenal have been handed a blow with Martin Odegaard having decided to stay with Real Madrid next season.
The Norwegian struggled for playing time under Zinedine Zidane last term, and he was loaned out to the Gunners in January.
He managed two goals and two assists from his 20 appearances. The Gunners have since been tipped to re-sign him.
It now appears that they have been handed a blow with Odegaard opting to grab the opportunity with Los Blancos.
New manager Carlo Ancelotti is prepared to hand him a chance. Odegaard could play in his preferred number 10 role.
The Gunners are actively looking for a creative player, and it seems that they are unlikely to re-sign Odegaard this summer.
They have been linked with a move for Real Betis' Nabil Fekir after missing out on the signature of Emiliano Buendia.
Buendia was high on their radar, but he ended up joining Aston Villa, who accepted to include a sell-on clause on his contract.
