Arsenal have reportedly proposed a part-exchange deal to sign Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.
The 24-year-old has emerged as the Gunners' prime target, and football.london claims that they have now made a formal bid.
Maddison is currently valued at over £60m, but the Gunners have proposed a player-plus-cash deal to lower the price tag.
The player offered in exchange has not been mentioned, but it could be one of Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock or Eddie Nketiah.
The Gunners are determined to sign a creative midfielder this summer, and Maddison perfectly fits the requirement.
The playmaker is Premier League proven. He bagged eight goals and seven assists from 31 top-flight games last season.
Maddison is open to the prospect of joining the Gunners, provided they can strike a transfer agreement with the Foxes.
It won't be an easy task with Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers recently ruling out any big-name departures this summer.
Arsenal could look to re-sign Martin Odegaard in case they are unsuccessful in convincing the Foxes to sell Maddison.
