Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Real Betis, Sancho starts

09 March 2023 - 18:34

Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Real Betis in the Europa League tonight.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 7-0 loss to Liverpool at the weekend and manager Erik ten Hag will be eyeing a strong response.

    Predicted Line-up:

David de Gea has been United's undisputed choice in goal for most of the campaign and he is expected to continue between the sticks against Manuel Pellegrini's side.

In defence, there could be a couple of changes from the Anfield loss. Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw looked out of depth in the 7-0 defeat and could be replaced with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia in the full-back spots.

At the heart of the backline, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are expected to start and the same can be said for Casemiro and Fred in midfield. Scott McTominay is no longer an assured starter while Marcel Sabitzer has been ruled out with an injury.

In attack, we are backing the manager to make two changes. Wout Weghorst and Antony should be dropped from the line-up on the back of unconvincing displays in Merseyside.

Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho could take their places. Garnacho could feature on the left wing with Sancho in the number 10 role. Bruno Fernandes should line up on the right flank.

Up front, Marcus Rashford is set to continue. The England star is a guaranteed starter on the back of scoring 25 goals this term. Anthony Martial is back in training but the game will come too soon for him.

Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; Casemiro, Fred; Fernandes, Sancho, Garnacho; Rashford.
