Liverpool are set to sign former Arsenal forward Donyell Malen this January, as the 24-year-old Dutchman has been informed that he can leave Borussia Dortmund to pursue his dream of a return to the Premier League. The Gunners sold Malen to PSV Eindhoven in 2017, and after a few successful campaigns a move to the Bundesliga with Dortmund followed.
With 23 caps and five international goals to his name, Malen, who can operate as a right winger or as a forward, is seen as a potential addition to Jurgen Klopp\'s squad in January. With uncertainty over the long-term future of Mohamed Salah, the Anfield club want to move swiftly to sign a replacement. Liverpool\'s impressive start to the 2023-24 season has caught the eye, and the side dubbed \'Klopp 2.0\' want to bring in more new faces.
Malen joined Arsenal in 2015 from Ajax, but requested a transfer after only two years after a lack of first-team football and lack of promises that he would ever make the jump up to the club\'s starting XI.
Liverpool are said to be preparing a 40 million euro bid for the Dutch starlet.
