Arsenal have opened contract talks with Gabriel Magalhaes amid his exceptional form during the current campaign.
The Brazil international started the season on the bench with manager Mikel Arteta opting for Ben White alongside William Saliba in central defence.
However, the tactical system quickly changed. White moved to right-back with Gabriel getting the nod to partner Saliba at the heart of the backline.
The former Lille man has been very consistent with his performances throughout the season and he has also chipped in with valuable goals.
His current contract only expires in June 2027, but the Gunners hierarchy are now prepared to reward him with a pay rise for his progress.
Arsenal have been busy in handing new deals to key players and Ben White was the most recent to commit his long-term future to the club.
The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League with 77 points, but they are just one ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
