Capello backs Scolari move

14 June 2008 - 20:45

Fabio Capello has offered his backing for the new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari. Roman Abramovich opted to bring in the Brazilian who is currently coaching Portugal at Euro 2008.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • "I think a Brazilian manager is interesting for English football, (he will bring) new ideas, it is very important," said Capello.

"I think he will do well. He's a very intelligent coach because he can change the style of a team.

"I know him well because when he was Brazil manager he spent a lot of time in Rome, because there were four players in the (Roma) team.

"He is an important manager because he has been the world champion, he has won with teams in South America. He has a lot of experience."
