Arsenal monitoring Javi Varas

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be looking at Sevilla goalkeeper Javi Varas, who was recently in the spotlight for saving a Lionel Messi penalty.

Wenger faces the prospect of losing two goalkeepers in Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski in the summer and wants an experienced keeper to compete with Wojciech Szczesny for the number one spot next season.

A potential deal could cost the Gunners in the region of £6 million.
