Preview: Man Utd vs Newcastle
39 years ago happened to be the last time when Newcastle won at Old Trafford; but Alan Pardew's rejuvated Toon side lost only their first game last week to Man City and proved that they mean business in the Premier League this year.
Sir Alex Ferguson knows that today's match is a must win game if they are to keep the pressure on city rivals Man City at the top of the table, whilst a return to form is required today after the midweek 2-2 draw with Benfica at Old Trafford.
Newcastle have been working hard under Alan Pardew this year and sit in a very comfortable 4th position in the league. Even this week, Sir Alex Ferguson said that Newcastle have been "working hard like trojans up there", this hard work has catapulted the Toon to a Champions League qualification spot.
Visiting Old Trafford is probably one place where Alan Pardew had hoped he would not visit after defeat to Man City last week, but United are not in the best form at the moment and have scraped victories at home in their last few games.
TEAMS
Anderson and Tom Cleverley are missing for Man United, whilst Wayne Rooney can expect a recall to the team.
Cheick Tiote is also expected to play some part today.
