Sunderland consider Asamoah Gyan return
Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is considering a recall of striker Asamoah Gyan. The Ghanaian forward is currently on loan in the United Arab Emirates. Steve Bruce let the striker join Al-Ain in October.
Sunderland have struggled for goals so far this year, and since the departure of Darren Bent to Aston Villa at the beginning of 2011, no proper replacement has been signed. Nicklas Bendtner has struggled this season, too.
O'Neill said: "Yes, absolutely I will address it. I have to talk to Niall [Quinn, Sunderland director] about exactly where we stand on that. But yes, again, his position will definitely be looked at.
"He started off brilliantly, then things tapered away a little bit.
"I don't know the lad at all. Again, he got off to a great start so the potential is there, but I will have a look at it."
