Man Utd boss Ferguson slams assistant ref

Sir Alex Ferguson has slammed assistant referee Darren Cann, after he ruled out a blatant penalty foul by debutant Gary Cahill yesterday. The Chelsea defender brought down Danny Welbeck in the box, but no decision was given.
Ferguson slammed the assistant for his role in the 3-3 draw yesterday, insisting that United should have had the early penalty.
"They should have had a man sent off in the first half," said Ferguson.
"That linesman [gave] a penalty against us from 40 yards away last year against Liverpool - and he can't see that?
"That assistant referee, who's all too happy to flag at Old Trafford for penalty kicks, didn't give them."
