Fabio Capello Snubs PSG

It seems that the search for a new PSG manager is still far from over. After having been reportedly snubbed by Andre Villa-Boas, their long targeted candidate for the managerial role, it's now Capello's turn to turn down the job offer.

After AVB refused to take up the job in Parc des Princes, PSG turned to their plan B- Fabio Capello, the former England coach. But as the events turned out to be, Capello has denied a chance to move and work at Paris Saint-Germain. The turn of events also stalled the much anticipated move of Carlos Ancelloti to Real Madrid.

Capello's son and agent, Pierfilippo traveled to Paris on Wednesday to negotiate terms with PSG President Nasser al Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo. The length of the contract turned out to be the roadblock in the prospective contract. PSG were ready to offer an yearlong contract, with an option to renew for another 12 months at the end of next season.

Russia's insistence that the Italian coach sees out the notice period, despite PSG's willingness to pay him out of his binding agreement by spending $4million proved to be another hitch in the agreement.

PSG are now compelled to look for other alternatives including Michael Laudrup at Swansea, Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and even Claude Makelele, who is on PSG's coaching staff. The pursuit of a new manager at the PSG doesn't seem to be nearing a conclusive end as the prospective managers are wary of the short time spell being offered in the contract. This year long contract is a result of PSG's long term interest in Arsene Wenger, who they think could take the baton for their club as soon as his contract comes to an end next year.
