Gaston Ramirez to stay at Southampton

Gaston Ramirez will not be sold by Southampton this summer, despite reports that Mauricio Pochettino is ready to let the player join Borussia Dortmund. Southampton's manager denied that a deal has been reached to let him leave.

The midfielder is reportedly homesick and looking at potential destinations for the new year. However, Southampton are eager to keep their players and have shown their ambition for the year ahead with the signing of Dejan Lovren and the expected arrival of Victor Wanyama.


"He's happy with us and we are counting on him for next season," said Pochettino.


"It's normal that a lot of clubs are interested in his quality, but we don't listen to transfer rumours. We are planning for next season with him on board."
