Arsenal eyeing move for Newcastle's Tim Krul
Arsenal are reportedly looking for a goalkeeper, a central defender, a defensive midfielder and a prolific striker to strengthen their squad. Recently, relegated QPR agreed that Brazilian International keeper Julio Cesar was too good for the Championship and decided to put him off their wage bill but the Gunners have missed out on the keeper.
Arsenal are still in search of an established keeper who would provide experience as well as competition to Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski. Tim Krul has emerged as a surprise target.
According to the Metro Arsenal have turned their interests from Julio Cesar to Newcastle goalie Tim Krul. It looks like Cesar is set to move to Napoli on loan rather than accept a switch to the Emirates.
Krul is 25-years old, and it was predicted that Wenger wanted an experienced keeper who would bring his expertise and offer competition for the talented but error-prone goalkeepers Szczesny and Fabianski. A perfect example to that is the recently signed Blues keeper Mark Schwarzer. Bringing the Dutch International Krul into the team would provide direct competition to the keepers, and it is possible that the emergence of the Magpies star would perhaps cause Szczesny and Fabianski to consider leaving due to lack of playing time.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal do table a bid for Krul in the upcoming days or wait for Julio Cesar's current situation to unfold.
