Arsenal target Suarez to hand in transfer request
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is to hand in a transfer request on Friday morning in an effort to force a transfer away from Anfield. Arsenal yesterday made an offer to their Premier League rivals of £40m + £1 and activated a clause in Suarez's contract that allows him to speak to another club.
The Uruguayan forward is on course to become Arsenal's most expensive ever signing as Arsenal manager Wenger looks set to spend at the very least £40m to secure the former Ajax striker's signature.
Earlier in the day yesterday Liverpool owner John W Henry posted a message on Twitter saying: "What do you think they're smoking at the Emirates?", seemingly suggesting that an offer would be rejected by Brendan Rodgers for Suarez.
However, the striker is now ready to move to Arsenal amidst reports that the Gunners will pay him £140,000 a week to become their most expensive player.
