Sebastian Coates could miss season through injury

The extent of Liverpool's Uruguayan defender has been revealed to be even worse than first thought, as it looks like his knee injury could end his season before it even began.

He sustained the torn cruciate ligament injury playing for Uruguay last week. The defender has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Merseyside club but is unlikely to be sold this season due to the injury.


Liverpool are thought to have rejected a £10m bid for Martin Skrtel from Napoli, and are looking into signing Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori from Sporting Lisbon.
