Arsenal to make massive bid for Karim Benzema in January
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will make a move for French international striker Karim Benzema in January according to reports from Spain. The Real Madrid striker could be sold if the Spanish side step up their interest in Liverpool frontman Luis Suarez.
Benzema has long been a target of Arsenal having been linked with a move to the Emirates every summer for the last six years. However, a transfer has never come to fruition after the Gunners were quoted a reported 40 million Euros last summer and 30 million Euros the season before.
However, with Arsenal hoping to continue their Premier League title challenge into the new season, the Gunners are ready to add some more steel to their frontline and bring in the 25-year-old striker. Olivier Giroud has impressed this season but the long term future of Germany international striker Lukas Podolski remains uncertain, with Borussia Dortmund one of the teams monitoring the injured striker's progress.
Benzema, who has scored 57 goals in La Liga for Real Madrid since making a transfer move back in 2009, is reportedly desperate to one day work alongside Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
