Man Utd plot move for Stephan Lichtsteiner

Manchester United are preparing a January bid for Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, according to reports in Switzerland.

The reports claim that the Red Devils boss David Moyes is keen on acquiring the signature of the talented Swiss International, who was ever-present when Juve retained the Serie A title last season.

The 29-year-old who has 51 caps for the national side to his name, is considered as a key member in the Turin outfit, and is highly regarded for his work rate and energy.

Manchester United are in search of a new full-back, and it is expected that the Red Devils will offer a transfer fee in the region of £10m, which remains £4m short of Juventus' valuation.

Chelsea have been previously linked with a move for the player.
