Arsenal join Tottenham in race to sign Christian Benteke

Arsenal are set to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke, as per The Daily Mail.

The Gunners boss is keen on strengthening his striking options this season, and regards the Belgian International very highly. With the likes of Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott offered the roles at the wing, Benteke could be the perfect centre-forward to provide competition to Olivier Giroud .


Benteke has been in good form for the Villans having scored 4 goals in 6 Premier League games this season.


A fee in the region of £28m would be required to lure the 22-year-old striker to the Emirates in the January transfer window.
