Arsenal linked with move for Winston Reid

Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for West Ham defender Winston Reid. The centre back has impressed in the Premier League for the Hammers and could now make a move to one of their London rivals.

Arsene Wenger has been personally tracking the progress of the defender for the last 18 months, with Reid impressing the Frenchman with a series of strong displays at the heart of West Ham's defence.


With Arsene Wenger currently having three top class central defenders to choose from in Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen; there is no immediate need to bring in another centre back. However, it is understood that Arsenal are preparing for a departure for Thomas Vermaelen, who has instructed his agent to find him a new team in search of regular first team football.
