Cheikhou Kouyate denies interest in Premier League switch

Anderlecht centre-back Cheikhou Kouyate has dismissed speculation linking him with a switch to the Premier League with either Newcastle United or Southampton during the winter transfer window.

The 23-year-old Senegalese International, who is also believed to have attracted interest from Arsenal in recent weeks, has revealed that he would like to stay with the Belgian giants for the rest of the current campaign before making a move next summer.


"I want to finish the season here," He said. "I want to win the title with Anderlecht.


"If this is not the case, I still want to go. I do not want to leave this team now. I will design a transfer at the end of the season."


Kouyate is currently valued at £5.5m by Anderlecht.
