Borussia Dortmund chase Karim Benzema signing

Borussia Dortmund want to sign Real Madrid's striker Karim Benzema at the end of the season as a replacement for the outgoing Robert Lewandowski, who will join Bayern Munich in the summer.

Karim Benzema has been in and out of the first team at Real Madrid and there still remains some uncertainty regarding his long term future at the Bernebeu. Benzema had previously been linked with a transfer to Arsenal, where manager Arsene Wenger is a long term fan of the player. However, that deal that would see him move to London fell through last summer and the Gunners have since turned their attentions elsewhere.


With Real Madrid currently preferring the duo of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo to spearhead their attack this season, Benzema is contemplating life after Los Blancos.


Benzema has therefore been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth over 25 million Euros. The German side are hoping to move quickly to find a replacement for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and are confident French international Benzema is the right man for the job.
