Newcastle manager Pardew pursuing one new signing
Alan Pardew is hopeful that the Toon Army will be able to bring in at least one new player before the end of January. Newcastle United have been linked with a move for French youngster Kurt Zouma.
Newcastle, who have a burgeoning crop of French players at the club, are believed to have instructed chief scout Graham Carr to travel south to find a new centre back and also a midfielder if one is available.
Alan Pardew has now admitted that his top priority in the transfer window will be to bring in at least one new player for his squad.
"I would say it would be better to buy now but the problem you have in this window is that clubs are very, very reluctant to sell," Pardew said. "We are not in a position of negativity like last year. We ain’t got that pressure on us but, having said that, I still want to bring a player in."
