Arsene Wenger heading for Arsenal exit?

ArseneWenger news

Arsene Wenger under huge pressure

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could end his glorious managerial reign at the club at the end of the current season.

Wenger, managing the Gunners for the 1000th time, took his side to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea knowing that a win would put the club back into the title race.

However, the pre-match game plans turned soar from the start as early goals from Samuel Eto'o and Andre Schurrle portrayed the club's defensive crisis playing away at the big clubs.

Things couldn't get much worser as referee Andre Mariner in a case of a mistaken identity, sent off Kieran Gibbs instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a handball in the six yard box.

Eden Hazard made it 3-0 to Chelsea from the penalty spot, with Oscar adding a fourth in the 42nd minute. The second half started off in a slow fashion as the Blues were happy to keep hold of their cleansheet. Oscar added his second for the day and his replacement Mohamed Salah sealed a 6-0 demolition of the Gunners at the Bridge.

The humiliation at Chelsea puts Arsenal seven points adrift of the summit, with a game in hand and this surely ends club's slim hopes of contesting for the Premier League title this campaign.

Arsene Wenger will have lots of questions to answer from the media, with the North London outfit still in search for a first trophy since 2005.The FA Cup now remains the only hope for glory, and any slip up against Wigan Athletic on April 12, could well end the Frenchman's 18-year association with the club.
