Dutch defender pursued by North London rivals
North London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign Dutch defender Joel Veltman.
Veltman who is with the Netherlands' squad for the World Cup, is highly regarded as a young talent in Netherlands but has made only one substitute appearance for the Dutch national side in the World Cup.
The centre-back currently plays in the Dutch league with Ajax and is also a target for Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
But it seems like a two-horse race with Tottenham and Arsenal taking the lead for his signing.
Arsene Wenger is also looking to search for a replacement for German Thomas Vermaelen who is reportedly planning to leave Arsenal for Manchester United and
Tottenham could lose Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul this summer.
