Liverpool flop close to Sevilla switch
Sevilla are apparently closing in on the signing of Liverpool's out of favour forward Iago Aspas.
The talented Spaniard joined the Reds from Celta Vigo last summer, as manager Brendan Rodgers was keen on covering up the absence of Luis Suarez from an eight-match ban.
However, Aspas failed to earn a place in the starting line-up just weeks after the start of the new campaign, as the 'SAS' partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge struck fear among the opposition, on the contrast of their excellent goal scoring exploits.
It is now understood that Aspas is keen on a switch away from the Reds and reports in Spain claim that Sevilla have reached an agreement with the Merseysiders that will see the player move to Estadio Ramon on an initial loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent next summer.
The 26-year-old failed to scored in 14 league games for Liverpool last season.
