Fernando Torres to Monaco?
Monaco are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and are confident a deal can be wrapped up before the end of the month.
The Ligue 1 side have joined the striker’s former club Atletico Madrid in the hunt for the 30-year-old, who has struggled to replicate the form that persuaded Chelsea to pay Liverpool £50 million for the Spanish striker.
Since his move to Stamford Bridge, Torres has struggled to cement his place in the first-team and has found goals hard to come by.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are willing to sell Torres if they receive a bid in the region of £20m. The news has alerted Monaco and Atletico, with the Spanish champions keen to re-sign their former captain.
The La Liga side sold star striker Diego Costa to Chelsea last week in a deal believed to be in the region of £32m, with manager Jose Mourinho said to be keen on using Costa as a lone striker next season.
Real Madrid announced the arrival of Monaco striker James Rodriguez yesterday and Monaco are aiming to add a striker to complement Radamel Falcao.
