Carl Jenkinson seals West Ham United loan switch

West Ham United have successfully completed the signing of Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan deal.
The talented defender's future at the Emirates had been thrown into doubt following the arrivals of Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers this summer.
The one-time England international had been linked with a permanent switch to the likes of Hull City, Sunderland and Swansea in recent weeks, but it has now been confirmed that the 22-year-old will join the Hammers on a temporary basis for the next campaign.
"I'm clearly seen as a big part of things here and hopefully I can prove my worth here because it is an important year for me," Jenkinson told the Hammers' official website.
"I was flattered to have a lot of options but, deep down, if I was being honest with myself West Ham was always the place I wanted to go to."
The Hammers face off against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their first game of the league campaign.
