Juventus make 10m euro bid for Vlaar
Juventus make 10m euro bid for Vlaar
Juventus have this morning made a 10 million euro offer for Dutch international centre back Ron Vlaar. Aston Villa are listening to all offers for the defender, who is also a target for Manchester United.
Vlaar, who had an excellent World Cup tournament for the Netherlands, is one of this summer's hottest properties as Aston Villa look set to sell some of their best players and whilst numerous other teams look to bring in a new centre back. Man Utd manager Louis van Gaal, who coached Vlaar at the World Cup, is a huge fan of the 29-year-old and is ready to make an enquiry as soon as United return to England. Meanwhile, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is also looking for a replacement for Dejan Lovren who joined Liverpool this summer.
However, it is understood that Italian giants Juventus are the first team to have tabled an official bid for the defender and the 10 million euro offer is being considered by Paul Lambert's side. Juve are planning to sign at least one defender prior to the start of their Serie A campaign.
Aston Villa, who are currently up for sale by chairman Randy Lerner, have been told they must sell before they can buy any new players and subsequently Vlaar's long term future at Villa Park looks doubtful.
