David Silva signs new Man City contract
Spain international winger David Silva has signed a new contract at the Etihad Stadium. Manager Manuel Pellegrini had been pushing for a new deal for Silva and will be delighted that progress has finally been made.
Man City's official twitter account, @MCFC, confirmed the news with a tweet: "DAVID SILVA: @21LVA signs new five-year deal at #mcfc."
Silva will now stay at the club until at least 2019. Having agreed the deal, Silva told reporters: "From the moment I joined the club four years ago it has felt like a second home to me. On and off the pitch, I feel incredibly content and fulfilled professionally and personally, so why wouldn’t I want to stay and keep winning trophies with this fantastic team?"
