Sebastian Coates to Sunderland
Uruguayan international Sebastian Coates has joined Sunderland from Premier League giants Liverpool on a season long loan deal.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who joined the Reds from Uruguayan club Nacional in 2011, had made 12 appearances across all competitions for the Anfield Stadium team since then.
He spent the end of the last season on loan to his former club, after a knee injury kept him out of the first half of the 2013-14 season.
Coates was a part of the Sky Blues squad that reached the round of 16 in the World Cup in Brazil this year, and has 15 international caps to his name.
Though a part of Liverpool’s pre-season, the young footballer has failed to make it to the squad for any of the games this season.
He is the fourth defender to leave Brendan Rodgers’ side this summer, after Martin Kelly joined Crystal Palace, Daniel Agger re-joined Brondby and left-back Jack Robinson departed for Queen Park Rangers.
