Butt: don't sack Allardyce
Nicky Butt believes it could be a mistake if Sam Allardyce loses his job at Newcastle United. A last-minute Habib Beye header secured a 2-1 win against Birmingham to ease the pressure on Big Sam.
"The culture of sacking managers doesn't work," said Butt.
"When you look around at top teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United the managers have been there for a lot of years and have created stability.
"Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson have been there a long time and they get it right. That's because the manager can learn the ins and outs of the club.
"Hopefully, we will see that stability happen here. I see similarities between Sir Alex and Sam Allardyce.
"It's sad when you read Sam Allardyce is one or two games from the sack because he has come in and changed a lot of things and it will take time to get the benefit."
