Spurs interested in James McCarthy

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to The Mirror.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on signing a top-class holding midfielder this winter, having failed in the pursuit of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Mirror claims that the North London outfit could launch an offer for the Republic of Ireland international in the current transfer window.

However, the club would have to match the Toffees' asking price for the player which is currently set at £25m.
