Chelsea consider Adebayor loan swoop

Emmanuel Adebayor has emerged as a top target for Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

The 31-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs in recent months, following emergence of Harry Kane as the club's top marksman.

The Mirror reports that Blues boss Jose Mourinho could make a surprise loan move for the former Arsenal man this summer, as he seeks an efficient back-up option for star striker Diego Costa.

Adebayor worked under Mourinho during a loan spell at Real Madrid in 2011.
