Charlie Austin on Newcastle radar
Newcastle United are ready to sign Charlie Austin at the end of the season after club owner Mike Ashley agreed to bankroll a move. The QPR striker has been a revelation in his first season in the Premier League.
QPR have endured a miserable campaign back in the Premier League but Austin has been one of the shining lights of a somewhat average campaign.
The striker has attracted the interest of several teams, with Liverpool also rumoured to have shown a keen interest.
However, it is Newcastle that are believed to be in pole position to snap up the English striker. Mike Ashley has agreed that he will free up the finances to sign the Queens Park Rangers forward at the end of the current campaign.
